CONCEPCIÓN DEL URUGUAY

The town of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception of Uruguay was founded on June 25, 1783 by Tomas de Rocamora. It was the capital of the province of Entre Rios for many years, until in 1883 it was decided that the capital city were Parana. Despite this, the city continued to grow in economic importance, in 1887 its port was modernized and in 1910 its customs was one of the most important in the country.

Nowadays is a vibrant city, recognized by the educational level of its institutions. It has a lot of primary, secondary and technical schools, with several senior levels, in addition a state university and a private one.

Concepcion del Uruguay can be an excellent starting point for many excursions. In addition to touring the city, which offers great historic attractions, it is a must visiting the nearby Palace of San Jose and the beautiful Pelay Bank, on the shore of the Uruguay River, from which you can see one of the best sunsets from the coast of this river.
