ITÁ IBATÉ
It is one of the best fishing options on the Alto Parana. Its good location on higher grounds from the coast makes it better tolerate flooding of the river, compared to other localities. In addition to Dorado and Surubí, you also can find species like Boga and Pacú, both are very combative. Throughout time the city has adapted to the needs of the fishermen who visit it frequently, and today Itá Ibaté offers a complete tourist infrastructure, hotels and cabins, rental boats, fishing guides, and so on. It is very visited not only by the Argentine tourism, but also by Brazilian and Uruguayan.
History: Itá Ibaté ( "High Rock" in Guarani) was founded for the first time in 1865. Its chapel was built in 1902 and declared a National Historic Monument in 1997. Attached to this building is a wonderful work of art, Christ on the cross, built into a single piece of Timbo colorado wood. The cross made in lapacho is 11 meters high
