MAR DE AJÓ

It is a traditional spa in Buenos Aires province, whose beaches reach up to 100 meters wide at low tide. Its dunes are being forested in order to achieve fixation.
The main commercial activity is around San Martin Avenue. Although youth often prefer the nearby town of San Bernardo, here in Mar de Ajo is possible to find more economic accommodations and remain near the center of the action of San Bernardo.

The first name of this spa was La Margarita, taken from a ship that sank off its coast, and that followed the route from Europe to the Pacific through the Strait of Magallanes. Its passengers and cargo managed to escape. It is said that a large quantity of wine casks were rescued and were buried among the dunes. Thanks to chance and during the stay of a group of members of the ACA that were camping there, and in the need of obtaining drinking water, they installed a pump. In the drilling process it began to flow a dark liquid, which was not oil or water but it was sherry taste and sweet wine. There were long and “watered” festivities
