SAN ANTONIO DE LOS COBRES

It is a typical village of Salta’s Puna, which has become famous for being a station of the Train to the Clouds, which coming from Salta reaches the viaduct La Polvorilla. It’s a town with low houses, where the neighborhood of the gendarmerie and customs staff highlights among the rest. Throughout the year the weather is windy and very cold. The accommodation offer is small, besides just one good level hostel, you can find other lodgings with little infrastructure, but much more economical.

Tourist attractions that can be known from here are rare. Usually you get to San Antonio de los Cobres as part of a tour that comes from the city of Salta, or if you´re heading to Chile by the passage of Sico (usually not in good condition). If you´re stopping here and want to know other locations, we recommend visiting the Viaduct La Polvorilla and the ruins of Tastil.
