SUSQUES

In late 18th century, Susques was an important mine center of Atacama’s Puna. Later, the town was part of Bolivia, then Chile, but after a boundary referral it belongs to Argentinean National Territory. Like most of the Jujuy’s towns, Susques keeps the authentic essence of the Puna. It’s a must a visit to the church (NHM) and a city tour.

To go: Heading by the PR 16 to the west just 15 km from here you get to the Quebrada del Taire (Taire’s gorge), from which you have a good view that lets appreciate the plain ground over the town is settled. Near here you also have the opportunity of try fishing Truchas in lagoons.
