TARTAGAL

Tartagal is located in the northeast of the province of Salta, and together with Oran and Embarcacion constitute the largest urban agglomeration in Salta’s northeast. It is important hub in relations with Bolivia on the path of Yacuiba, which leads to Santa Cruz de la Sierra.

Its business was always linked to logging, the plantations, agriculture and cattle raising with some extractive activities. But in the last decade, its economy has been boosted by the expansion and new discoveries of oil and gas.

Tartagal and its surrounding areas show high potential for natural and historical tourism. There are multiple possibilities for horseback riding, trekking, photographic safaris, not to mention its spectacular carnival and all alternatives to fishing and water sports offered by the Bermejo River
